What is therapy at COCG?

Carl Jung wrote, “the principle aim of psychotherapy is not to transport one to an impossible state of happiness, but to help (the client) acquire steadfastness and patience in the face of suffering. "

The alleviation of client symptoms is an important first step in therapy and, at times, is the sum of what clients seek in treatment.  It is our goal at COCG to assist clients in allaying symptoms that disrupt daily life while also maintaining a broader objective of skills development that can be utilized when future problems arise.

This task, therapy, is powered by the vehicle of collaborative treatment between clinician and client; at its core culturally sensitive dialogue with someone who is objective, neutral and nonjudgmental.
